Frequently Asked Questions
Is 14 yards big enough for a large commercial clearance?
A 14 yard skip holds 120-140 bin bags and is one of our largest wheeled skip options, suited to large commercial clearances, bulk garden waste removal and significant demolition projects. For very large continuous-output sites, our 16 yard RORO skip or a scheduled swap-out arrangement may be more cost effective.
Do I need a permit for a 14 yard skip?
Yes — at 5.0m long and wider than standard skips, a 14 yard skip will require road placement in most cases, which means a permit from the local council (£50–80). We arrange this on your behalf. For commercial sites, we also handle any site-specific delivery requirements.
How long can I keep a 14 yard skip?
Standard hire is 7 days. For larger commercial projects, extended hire and swap-out services are available. We are experienced in supporting construction and commercial clients with flexible waste removal arrangements — contact us to discuss your project.
What can't I put in a 14 yard skip?
Prohibited regardless of skip size: asbestos, tyres, liquid paint, batteries, fridges/freezers, WEEE waste, fluorescent tubes, and hazardous or clinical waste. For commercial clearances, certain specialist waste streams (WEEE in volume, refrigerant-containing equipment) require separate licensed disposal — we can advise.
What Customers Say
"Needed the 14 yard skip for a full shopfit clearance — shelving, flooring, counters and all the old stock displays. The team managed the delivery to a busy high street perfectly. Very professional."
"Large garden clearance on a property we purchased — overgrown trees, old outbuildings, paving. The 14 yarder was collected the same day we finished. Top service."
