Frequently Asked Questions

Is 2 yards big enough for a small garden clearance?

Yes — a 2 yard mini skip holds 20-25 bin bags and is ideal for a small garden tidy-up. It will comfortably take hedge trimmings, weeds, light soil, old pots and small prunings from a modest garden. For heavier garden waste (turf, large tree branches, significant amounts of soil) we recommend a 4 or 6 yard skip.

Do I need a permit for a 2 yard skip?

If the skip sits entirely on your private driveway or property, no permit is needed. A permit is only required if the skip is placed on a public road or pavement. Permits cost £50–80 and are arranged with the local council — we can handle this for you when you book.

How long can I keep a 2 yard skip?

Our standard hire period is 7 days, which is more than enough time for most small projects. If you need a 14-day hire, a small extension fee applies. For longer periods, just call us — we are always happy to accommodate.

What can't I put in a 2 yard skip?

The following are prohibited in all our skips regardless of size: asbestos, tyres, paint cans (unless dry), batteries, fridges/freezers, electrical items (WEEE), fluorescent tubes, and any hazardous or clinical waste. For prohibited items we can advise on specialist disposal.
